Cybersecurity
High demand but narrow specialization. Growing with cloud adoption.
Why learn this
Security is a small but well-paid specialisation that grows with two pressures: increased cloud adoption and a tightening regulatory environment (GDPR, PCI, the EU AI Act). Tbilisi specifically gets a lot of compliance-driven demand from fintech and gov-tech. The path is rarely "junior security engineer" — it's typically "experienced backend / DevOps engineer who specialised".
Where it's used
Fintech, healthtech, infrastructure, government. The regulated industries hire most aggressively. From Tbilisi the most accessible path is application security or DevSecOps inside an existing engineering team, rather than dedicated penetration-testing or red-team roles which are scarcer.
